Most people don’t care much about what the chair they sit in looks like, so long as it’s comfortable. But for art deco collector Randy Lilly, nothing’s worse then an ugly seat.

In fact, Lilly despises unattractive furniture so much that, he says, he would buy a chair that he thinks is beautiful even if sitting in it meant a visit to a chiropractor. And he’s not just saying that, he’s done it.

Perched in the corner of Lilly’s living room is an impressive looking black 1950s Plycraft lounge chair and ottoman. Such sets sell for hundreds of dollars on the Internet. Lilly picked this one up for $50 at a thrift store.
